Engagement sessions are always special. They’re often the first professional photographs a couple takes together that specifically showcases how much they love each other. And what makes engagement photographs even more special is when they’re taken in a place that holds sentimental meaning for the couple. And that’s exactly what Jana and Ben wanted for their engagement session.

Jana and Ben went to Jay Cooke State Park in Esko, MN for their first date. They hiked, had a picnic, and realized their personal brands of goofiness meshed perfectly together. Since then, “up north” has become one of their special places.

Being super romantic and cute, Jana and Ben decided they wanted to recreate part of their first date (awwwww) and we found the exact spot where they had their first picnic. Ben pulled out a fancy bottle of red wine and the two toasted their love, happiness, and future.

To say I’m excited to photograph their wedding next summer is an understatement. I love them both so much and can’t wait to capture the magic of their wedding day!
