Towards the beginning of the pandemic, wedding planner Hailey of Essen Events and I exchanged emails about how my wedding plans were changing. My now husband and I intended to get married in Ireland and were looking forward to having a European adventure…all of which obviously didn’t happen. As a fellow bride in the beginning […]
Congratulations friend! You just said yes to your fiancé and you’re over the moon excited and can’t wait to start planning your dream wedding! But where should you start? Before you get in over your head, let me take your hand and walk you through the first 5 things I recommend doing after you become engaged.
I love when I’m able to bring one of my team members along to a wedding day as a second photographer. Most of my wedding collections include one because second photographers help me serve my clients better. While not all of my collections include a second photographer (though they can always be added), and not every wedding needs one, I do think every wedding benefits from have two photographers on site.
Engagement photo sessions are an important part of your engagement season. I’m 99.9% sure that’s not news to you, you are reading a wedding blog after all. There are so many things to be thankful for – yes, even in the wild year that was 2020. For Candace and Chase, on Thanksgiving Day morning, they added one more pretty epic item to their “I’m thankful for XYZ” list! Y’all know how much I geek out over love, right? The first time I visited Big Rock Creek – in St. Croix Falls, WI – it was the middle of winter. The grounds were so beautiful covered in powdery snow that I completely fell in love with it. I didn’t think it could ever be more lovely than it was then. But you guys, I was dead wrong!
Some might say Minnesota was made for winter weddings. And with winter weddings growing in popularity (hello reduced off-season venue fees) some brides and grooms may wonder how they’re survive their outdoor portraits.
I’ve got to hand it to Kathryn and Jeremy. I think they win the award for “The couple who kept their cool with the most stressful situation” award. You see, leading up to their wedding day, they weren’t sure that Jeremy’s parents would be able to attend – they live in India and it wasn’t clear if they’d be able to fly or not! Talk about STRESS!
