Bridal portraits are so much fun! Aside from them being a time to play dress up and snap additional images of you, bridal portrait sessions are the perfect opportunity to test out your wedding look. I typically schedule outside bridal portraits in Italy the day my bride has her hair and makeup trial.
And I know what you’re thinking, but no, outside bridal portraits aren’t just for people getting married at home. If you’re having a destination wedding, you should absolutely take outside bridal portraits with your photographer! Choose any day before your wedding, and spend an hour or two playing.
When I was in Italy this past fall, I had the opportunity to photograph Beatrice in a drop-dead gorgeous bridal dress designed by Made Bride. The hand-stitched beadwork is breathtaking to behold. And it fit Beatrice like a glove…seriously, it was like it was made for her.
Since the beadwork of Beatrice’s dress was so feminine, we thought it’d be a cool juxtaposition to take her bridal portraits in the olive grove next to Villa Cetinale. Villa Cetinale is a 17th century Roman Baroque-style villa near Siena, Italy.
We played in the olive trees, pranced down the hill from the villa’s watch tower, and twirled until our hearts were full.
It’s my dream to photograph a destination wedding in Italy. Whether it’s in Tuscany, along the Amalfi Coast, Cinque Terre, or Lake Como I’ll go anywhere my couples want me to go. I can’t wait to photograph all of the love, scenery, and magic of your Italian destination wedding!
