Anna and AJ’s spring celebration was the kind of Mount wedding that dreams are made of—elegant, emotional, and steeped in historical charm. The Mount, Edith Wharton’s Home is located in Lenox, Massachusetts, and is a beautiful blend of classic elegance and modern romance. Nestled in the picturesque Berkshires, this gorgeous historic estate provided a stunning backdrop for their unforgettable celebration.
The Mount wedding venue is perfect for couples who seek a timeless and sophisticated setting. As a wedding photographer who adores timeless estate weddings, The Mount has been on my dream venue list for years.
Anna got ready in a nearby VRBO with Molly, who hired me to second shoot Anna and AJ’s wedding.
I began the day with AJ and his groomsmen who got ready at the quaint Cornell Inn. We listened to Taylor Swift’s Lover album on the turntable AJ bought Anna, as they prepared for the day. AJ donned the coolest Cartier cufflinks I’ve ever seen, a dapper tux, and a handsome (though slightly troublesome) bowtie. A tip for those planning to wear a bowtie: practice tying it before you need to wear it.
Once the lads were ready, they hopped into their chartered trolly and we all made our way to The Mount. From there, we waited for Molly and Anna to arrive so we could set up for their big first look
The inside of the Mount wedding venue is breathtaking, but you book your wedding at the estate for its grounds. With its many gardens, groomed paths, and jaw-dropping views, this Berkshires wedding venue has so many portrait locations to choose from!
For their first look, we chose to begin at the stairs and the adjoining path behind the estate. When Anna and AJ saw each other for the first time, their intense joy and love were palpable!
Not too long after, their wedding party and family joined us for portraits. And y’all, their wedding party was so fun and so well-dressed!! I mean, just look at Anna’s bridesmaids dresses. All of the different colors and textures they wore were perfect for a garden wedding in the Berkshires!
Speaking of a European-inspired garden ceremony, their intimate and romantic ceremony was held in the French Flower Garden. As guests arrived, they were welcomed with fresh pink lemonade and orchestral renditions of Anna and AJ’s favorite pop songs.
White garden chairs lined the aisle on both sides of an ornate ceremony arch. The florals on the arch, designed by Ailish Floral, enhanced the natural beauty of the French Flower Garden. If you didn’t know better, you could have sworn that you were in the gardens of Versailles. And that’s one of the many reasons couples fall in love with The Mount wedding venue: the way its manicured grounds and lush gardens feel like a European escape.
As Anna walked down the aisle, escorted by her mother, AJ’s eyes filled with tears, a moment that touched everyone in attendance.
Following the ceremony, guests mingled in the Italian Garden for cocktail hour before making their way to the Grand Courtyard for dinner. Both spaces were transformed with elegant decor, including string lights, chic citrus-colored table settings, and lush floral centerpieces. All this, combined with the Mount’s historic charm, created a warm and inviting atmosphere for Anna and AJ’s wedding reception.
The evening unfolded like any other, with heartfelt toasts, a delicious dinner, and lots and lots of laughter.
As dinner concluded, Anna and AJ cut their cake before guests were ushered into The Mount and out onto the terrace for dancing.
Surrounded by family and friends, Anna and AJ shared their first dance and dazzled with near-professional lifts and other dance moves. The DJ kept the energy high, and the dance floor was filled with joyous celebration all night long.
Anna and AJ’s wedding at The Mount, Edith Wharton’s Home was a true reflection of their style—timeless, joyful, and deeply romantic. The venue’s timeless beauty, combined with the couple’s personal touches and the joy of their family and friends, made it a truly unforgettable day. I’m honored to have had a small part in their love story and I’m grateful to have been brought onto the team by Molly to photograph Anna and AJ’s big day!
If you’re dreaming of a historic estate wedding that combines historical charm with modern romance and European aesthetics, The Mount is an exceptional choice that will make your special day truly magical!!
