AnnaRose and Jake’s elegant summer wedding at The Depot Minneapolis in Minneapolis, Minnesota was a timeless celebration filled with warmth, style, and so much heart. I had the honor of second photographing this special day for Amanda Nippoldt Photography, and I’m still thinking about how beautifully everything came together.

We began the day at the Renaissance Minneapolis Hotel, The Depot — the hotel conveniently connected to The Depot Minneapolis — where Jake got ready with his groomsmen. He wore a dapper white suit and classic black bowtie.

Before leaving The Depot, AnnaRose shared an emotional dress reveal with her dad. It was a very sweet moment and you couldn’t help but smile as they shared a quiet moment together.

Once everyone was ready, we made our way to the University of St. Thomas for AnnaRose and Jake’s first look. The couple wanted that traditional down-the-aisle moment but knew the importance of taking portraits beforehand the ceremony. Their solution was a private first look inside the chapel — an intimate moment just for the two of them.

After their first look, we stepped into the peaceful courtyard on the University of St. Thomas campus for portraits. The ivy-covered buildings, stone archways, and manicured paths created an elegant, classic, and charming backdrop. It’s probably one of the prettiest campuses in St. Paul, Minnesota, and a perfect location for luxury wedding portraits.

Speaking of luxury, the bridesmaids wore luxurious gowns in a curated mix of soft blue tones and textures, a color story that gave the whole wedding a light, breezy elegance reminiscent of a coastal celebration. And you know I love a coastal color story! Having mix-and-match bridesmaid dresses gives a wedding party a refined, high-end appearance. I’m starting to see this fashion choice a bit in Minnesota but I’d like to see it more often at Midwest weddings.

After the portraits concluded, AnnaRose, Jake, and their wedding party went into the chapel so not to be seen as their guests arrived. They had a traditional Catholic ceremony. But untraditionally, when it was time for the Eucharist, instead of sitting down, AnnaRose and Jake got up and handed out the Eucharist to their guests. It was a cool twist on a very traditional moment.

Shortly after the ceremony, we arrived at The Depot Minneapolis for AnnaRose and Jake’s reception. The floral installations, thoughtful table décor, and warm candlelight softened the venue’s grandeur in the most romantic way. Even the simple decor in the cocktail hour space helped tie everything together with a subtle, cohesive beauty.

Throughout the evening, there were toasts that had everyone laughing and tearing up, delicious food, and a packed dance floor that didn’t let up. AnnaRose and Jake brought such warmth and joy to the day, and their guests matched that energy every step of the way.

It was also a pleasure to finally work alongside the planning team from Lasting Impressions, whose thoughtful approach helped the day run with ease and intention. I’d been hoping to collaborate with Sarah and her team for some time, and this wedding was the perfect introduction.
