Love is a beautiful journey that deserves to be celebrated and cherished every step of the way. For Madeline and Wes, their love story is intertwined with the enchanting neighborhood of DUMBO in Brooklyn, NY. Because the neighborhood is so meaningful to them, we chose to take their couple’s photos at Brooklyn Bridge Park. If you’re looking to take your engagement photos in Brooklyn, Brooklyn Bridge Park is one of my favorite locations!
I met Madeline in November 2021 in Italy (random, right?) and we instantly hit it off. She’s an insanely talented and very well-accomplished hair and makeup artist based out of New York City. Her work has been featured in Style Me Pretty, Magnolia Rouge (peep my work there), and in several makeup advertisements! And while it was my first time meeting Wes, I felt like I had known him for years. He’s as charming as he is handsome, as kind as he is dapper, and as smart as he is stylish.
It was a mild December morning when Madeline, Wes, and I met up. While there wasn’t the typical chill in the air, Madeline and Wes needed no invitation to cuddle up and draw each other close. Honestly, they made my job too easy because they instinctually made each pose uniquely “them” with their own flavor of intimacy. With gentle artistic direction from yours truly, I was able to focus on making creative compositional choices so their photographs were as remarkable as them.
Their attire, carefully chosen for the occasion, exuded their vibrant personalities and their fashion-forward sophistication while adding a touch of coziness to the photos.
No couple’s or engagement photography session in Brooklyn Bridge Park would be complete without showcasing the breathtaking beauty of the iconic Brooklyn Bridge and the awe-inspiring Manhattan skyline. So of course, I made sure to frame Madeline and Wes with both landmarks in the background of their photos. I mean, they’re some of New York City’s most celebrated symbols…you can’t NOT get them in the background, right? The result, if I do say so myself, was a collection of photographs that radiated grandeur, sophistication, and a sense of timelessness!
Madeline and Wes’s couple’s photography session in Brooklyn Bridge Park encapsulated the essence of their love and the beauty of their surroundings. It was a joy to witness, capture, and freeze this chapter of their love story in time through the chic, emotional, timeless photographs we took.
