Many have asked me what makes a wedding great? I don’t think there’s any one answer and tastes, as in all things, are incredibly subjective.
However, with all of the weddings I’ve worked and attended as a guest, I have found a surprising amount of similarities between the weddings that I’d deem “great.”
Nicole and Adam’s Greysolon Ballroom wedding in Duluth, MN was simply stunning. From the gorgeous dress, to the heartwarming speeches, to the scrumptious desserts everything about their wedding was perfect.
Let me take you back, seven years, to one fateful day. Nicole was at the gym. Adam was at that very same gym. Eyes met. Interest was piqued. They agreed to go out and…the date went terribly (their words, not mine)! Thankfully, they decided to give it another shot, and this time the stars aligned and it was magical. Since then, the two have grown and built a life together, their love intensifying with each passing day.
Fall is officially upon us and I couldn’t think of a better way to kick off the season than by photographing Emily and Andy’s YMCA Camp Miller wedding.
Camp Miller, about an hour south of Duluth, is nestled next to Sturgeon Lake. It has all of the amenities one might remember from their time as a camper. From the climbing wall to the archery range (a personal favorite of mine as a young camper), Camp Miller was the perfect venue for this outdoor-loving bride and groom.
