Fall is officially upon us and I couldn’t think of a better way to kick off the season than by photographing Emily and Andy’s YMCA Camp Miller wedding.
Camp Miller, about an hour south of Duluth, is nestled next to Sturgeon Lake. It has all of the amenities one might remember from their time as a camper. From the climbing wall to the archery range (a personal favorite of mine as a young camper), Camp Miller was the perfect venue for this outdoor-loving bride and groom.
Emily and Andy met on OkCupid about 2 years ago and knew they would get along when one of them asked, “What’s your patronus?” (in case you were wondering they are a dolphin and a stag respectively). From that moment on they were hooked.
I seriously can’t get enough of Emily and Andy! They are so down to earth and loveable. I felt it at their engagement session but it was even more obvious at their wedding how goofy and carefree they are especially when they’re together. Whether they’re playing camp games or dancing up a storm, Emily and Andy will be having the time of their lives with a smile plastered on their faces!
Out of all of the unique details Emily and Andy put together for their wedding, my favorite was the homemade jelly favors made by Dr. Strawberry* himself. I took home the blueberry jelly and I have to say it’s the best jelly I’ve ever had!
I couldn’t have asked for a better day and I feel very lucky to be able to share Emily and Andy’s love story with all of you. Emily and Andy are fun-loving, goofy, kind-hearted people. They are the kind of people with whom you feel an instant connection. I know their future is a warm and sunshiny as they are!
*Dr. Strawberry: the nickname one of Emily’s bridesmaids coined for Andy when the two started dating.

How do we even start to say thank you for all the work and effort you put into our wedding day?

Lauren played such a meaningful role in our wedding, capturing the day in photos that we'll look back on for the rest of our lives. She kept Scott and me calm and sane - Lauren is a miracle worker! There was a chunk of time in our wedding planning when we thought we'd go without a professional photographer to save on cost (terrible idea!) but once we met with Lauren, we knew we'd be in good hands.
