As my sixth season in the wedding industry begins, I thought it’d be fun to do a blog series on the best wedding planners in Minnesota. The Minnesota wedding planners included in my round up are the definition of professional: time-tested, talented, organized, creative. Their skills and expertise are worth far more than the price of their services. If you have the chance to work with one of these planners, do it!
So what’s the purpose of a wedding planner? Great question!
The purpose of a wedding planner, or day-of coordinator, is to make your wedding planning experience and wedding day as easy and stress-free as possible. Without a planner, all of the planning, set up, tear down, and vendor communication falls on your or your family’s shoulders. And who needs that?! No one…no one needs that.
Now that we’ve defined the role, let’s start meeting our planners!
Ok…confession time:
I’m so in awe of Events By Melody’s talent and prestige, that I still get butterflies each and every time I work with Melody and it’s my hope that my work does their work justice! I don’t know what it is but there’s something about Melody and her team that makes me want to do better than my best.
The motivation I feel has influenced me to raise my own expectations of myself which, in truth, has made me a better photographer.
It’s crazy to think that Events By Melody is only going on their 5th wedding season this year. I honestly would have believed it if Melody said she had been a planner her whole adult life. Melody and her team have won several awards over the years and are awaiting the results from Minnesota Bride’s 2021 Best Of awards. They will be announced later this summer.
One of the most important aspects of Melody’s job is to help her couples stay within their budget. From my own experience planning a wedding, that is easier said than done. The fact that Melody keeps her couples within their budgets is incredible!
In my opinion, wedding planning is one of the most involved, complicated roles you can have in the wedding industry. So much goes into planning, designing, and bringing that design to life. Melody and her team is there to help make the entire experience an enjoyable one for her couples.
From the very first planning meeting to the end of the wedding day, Melody and her team care for each of their couples in a gentle, assertive way that only a true professional can. And they do it with grace and joy!
If you want to work with Events By Melody, she recommends booking her at least a year in advance, if not 18 months, especially if you want to take advantage of her full planning services.
For wedding day management (aka day of coordination), 6-12 months in advance is adequate. Though, Melody predicts that 2022 will be extremely busy with the wedding industry starting to open back up. With that in mind it’d be a good idea to reach out sooner rather than later.
To connect with Events by Melody, you can follow them on Instagram, email them at info@eventsbymelodymn.com or you can fill out the contact form on her website.
