When it comes to hosting a Boston bridal shower, there’s something undeniably charming about having an elegant and whimsical tea party theme. Maybe it’s because we all grew up imagining what it would be like to be Alice at the Mad Hatter’s tea party. Or perhaps it’s the desire to do something that feels so quintessentially English. Whatever the reason, C + S’s tea party themed Boston bridal shower was a smash hit!
My friend Stephanie asked if I could fill in and photograph her couple’s bridal shower while she was out of town. I imagined an afternoon filled with delicate china, delectable treats, and heartfelt conversations…how could I pass all that up?! I couldn’t. So on a chilly March afternoon, I drove up to Ladyfinger’s Tea Lounge in Newburyport, MA, and lived out my tea party fantasies.
To create an inviting and whimsical ambiance, Ladyfinger’s Tea Lounge was decorated with delicate details and pastel colors. When you walked into the bridal shower, you immediately felt an outpouring of joy and excitement. The balloon arch and floral centerpieces in the main gathering space create a warm and welcoming environment. Guests grabbed mimosas or a cup of tea, finger sandwiches, and desserts and continued into the pink lounge to mingle.
While guests arrived, I took C + S outside for a few quick engagement photos. While Boston is not known for its warmth in the winter or early spring, the couple came prepared for the breezy wind. How cute is this denim bridal jacket?!
After their engagement photos and a few “Hello’s” to their guests, the gentlemen headed out and the ladies began the bridal shower activities.
Every great bridal party in Boston has fun activities for its guests. And no…I’m not talking about those cringy icebreakers or cheesy games we’ve all experienced (and dreaded) at bridal showers. Great showers also offer unique party favors. At C + S’s bridal shower, they killed two birds with one stone! They had a make-your-own bouquet flower bar!! With freshly cut, fragrant flowers, each guest got to build their own bouquet and take it home after the party!
C + S’s tea party themed Boston bridal shower was so much fun and I was blessed to have been able to photograph it for them. They are such a sweet couple and you could tell how well loved they are by their friends and family. I can’t wait to photograph their wedding later this year!!
