Surrounded by their closest and most dear friends and family, and with the rhythmic waves of Rhode Island’s Ocean House in Watch Hill to bear witness, Julia and Bill’s happily ever after officially began. I was excited to photograph this gorgeous Ocean House wedding alongside the talented Kati Rosado Photography. To make it even sweeter? We could see Taylor Swift’s house from the venue!! Where are my Swifties at?

The anticipation of the day unfolded as Julia and her bridesmaids immersed themselves in the coastal charm of Ocean House, overlooking the charming ocean views. As Julia and her gals floated around the suite, getting ready and grabbing champagne, I was struck by how calm and cool their energy was. 

As Julia finished getting ready, I made my way over to Bill and his groomsmen. Bill has a quiet yet incredibly distinguished quality about him. His groomsmen, on the other hand, were the perfect amount of boisterous charm that helped calm Bill’s pre-first-look nerves.

Julia and Bill’s first look was set against the backdrop of the iconic Ocean House Resort. The sun shone brightly on these lovebirds as they shared their first look and private wedding vows. Sharing private vows is a trend that I’m seeing more and more and I’ve got to say, I’m all for it. I wish I had done private vows at my wedding because, if I’m being honest, saying my vows that I had written, in front of others, made me feel kind of awkward… and I hate speaking in public so my nerves were off the charts.

We then spent some time taking Julia and Bill’s wedding portraits. Ocean House’s sprawling grounds provided an utterly picturesque setting for their romantic wedding photos and I’m 100% in love with them all! 

We were soon joined by Julia and Bill’s pup and their wedding party and took some quick group photos. Because it was a very hot and sunny day, and because their guests were starting to arrive, we ushered everyone back inside to get ready for their Ocean House wedding ceremony.

Their heartfelt ceremony unfolded on the grass directly outside Ocean House Resort. The music was provided by a lovely string quartet which upped the elegance factor tenfold!

The Ocean House Resort’s grandeur continued to unfold during Julia and Bill’s cocktail hour and reception. Elegance and oceanic accents seamlessly blended with the couple’s dreamy oceanside wedding vision.

One of the things I like to do during this part of the day is to capture as many candid moments as possible. I make a game out of it. Find couples being cute. See what the parents and grandparents are doing. Is someone taking a selfie? If so, I’m there photographing it. And if there are dogs around, you know I’m keeping my eyes open for them so I can photograph the cuteness!

As the day transitioned into the evening, Julia and Bill were treated to several sweet toasts. The amount of love that surrounded these two was so special to witness!

Julia and Bill’s Ocean House wedding was a celebration of love and coastal charm, marking the beginning of a new chapter in their shared dreams. I felt the privilege and honor of capturing their day and can’t wait to photograph more weddings at Ocean House! May Julia and Bill’s journey together be as dreamy and beautiful as the coastal landscapes that witnessed their union.
