I’m beyond excited to share Sarah and Cody’s Shepherd’s Run wedding with you all! The day was filled with so much charm, class, and unforgettable moments. It perfectly encapsulated Sarah and Cody’s love for each other and their guests. Imagine this: clinking glasses, warm sunshine, and the sweet sounds of a nearby string quartet – this was the magic of Sarah and Cody’s tented wedding at Shepherd’s Run
As the day began – alongside lead photographer Kati Rosado Photography – I knew this day was going to be one I’d always remember!
I started the morning with Cody and his groomsmen inside the Shepherd’s Run study. With its navy walls and furniture, it was the perfect backdrop for their blue, slate, and black color palette. I think that’s one of my favorite things about Shepherd’s Run weddings. The venue has so many stylish rooms in it, so no matter your wedding theme or color palette, the space will fit your wedding’s theme! It’s a goldmine!
Because their wedding theme was elegance, I had Cody get ready in the venue’s study. There, Cody’s groomsmen and father helped him get ready and watched as he opened Sarah’s wedding gift to him. When I say Cody is the sweetest groom I’ve ever met, I mean it! He was so excited to marry Sarah and wiped away tears throughout the entire day. It was so cute!
Once Cody was ready, I went upstairs to help Sarah finish getting ready. Sarah was, and is, a true vision and it’s no wonder why everyone around her showered her with compliments all day. She embodied poise and elegance. Her bridal styling was the utmost of class, with not one but two hair looks.
This wedding, like many others we had this season, had rain in the forecast. And as the storm clouds began to roll in, and as their guests began arriving, we whisked Sarah, Cody, and their wedding party inside.
Guests didn’t have to wait too long for the main event. The string quartet began playing and the ceremony was underway.
I’m not sure what moment was the sweetest: Sarah’s mom walking her down the aisle, Cody’s flood of happy tears, or the smiles plastered on the faces of every guest.
Almost as soon as the ceremony ended and after we took a few more couple portraits, the rain began to fall. Good timing right? With that, the evening transitioned to cocktail hour which was held in and on the Manor Terrace.
The cocktail hour exuded a mix of sophistication and laid-back vibes. Guests mingled, drinks flowed, and laughter echoed as everyone toasted Sarah and Cody’s love. It set the perfect tone for the festivities that lay ahead.
Sarah and Cody’s reception was underneath Shepherd Run’s beautiful Sailcloth tent. Tented wedding receptions are some of my favorites to photograph and this one was no exception. The lush greenery and floral decor elements blended seamlessly with the natural beauty of Shepherd’s Run. Everything came together to create a chic, timeless, and sophisticated design.
As the night progressed, the dance floor became a lively space filled with energy, joy, and a whole lot of sweat. That’s the telltale sign of a good dance party, right? One moment that sticks out in my memory is the impromptu limbo moment. One of Sarah and Cody’s guest’s took off his belt, give one end to his friend, and the rest is history. It really created moments that elevated the celebration to new heights…pun 100% intended!
Sarah and Cody’s Shepherd’s Run wedding was one of my favorite weddings I’ve ever had the joy of photographing. From the romantic garden ceremony to the spirited dance party, each aspect of the day reflected their style and their love story. Cheers to the happy couple and here’s to capturing more magical love stories at this enchanting Rhode Island wedding venue!
