Nantucket is an island off the coast of Cape Cod, MA that is equal parts opulent, quaint, and charming. It’s also where I took Carolyn and Clark’s enchanting engagement photos session. Carolyn has deep-rooted ties to the island – her family has a summer house there. And since they started dating, Nantucket has become one of Clark’s favorite places to be. So, when it came time to choose a location for their engagement photos, the choice was obvious; we needed to do give them a Nantucket engagement session!
Carolyn and Clark’s love story began thousands of miles away from Nantucket in Saint-Tropez. Fate intervened during a sailing adventure, where Carolyn met Clark. Perhaps it was the salty sea air, their charming smiles, or the warm summer sun but it was clear from the very beginning that they were destined for each other. And the rest, as they say, is history.
Nantucket, like Saint-Tropez, has a romantic allure to it. For that reason, and because of Carolyn’s family connection to the island, I’m not at all surprised that Nantucket became more than just a location for these two cuties. So much so that their wedding weekend will be held at Carolyn’s Nantucket family home. I can’t wait to share their wedding weekend photos with you!!!
No Nantucket engagement session is complete without a stop at one of the island’s iconic lighthouses. We began Carolyn and Clark’s Nantucket engagement session at Sankaty Head Lighthouse. With the lighthouse overlooking Sankaty Head Golf Club, I was a little worried that Clark would ditch Carolyn and me to play a round of golf. I’m just kidding! We did promise him that he could come back later to play a quick 9, though. That’s a fitting compromise, right? lol
After Sankaty Head Lighthouse, we went down to the beach. That’s where Clark gave Carolyn a HUGE surprise!
As we walked along the sand toward the picnic Carolyn’s family had set up for them, Clark presented Carolyn with a wedding present – an old Bronco meticulously restored. I’m so glad Clark gave me a heads-up before their session because I did NOT want to miss Carolyn’s reaction! It, like the gift, was priceless!!
The surprise wedding gift aside, Carolyn and Clark’s Nantucket engagement session was everything they wanted and more. They were bathed in the warm hues and smells of the beach; they strolled hand in hand along the sandy shores; they reflected on their journey and talked excitedly about their upcoming wedding. Joy and laughter mingled with the natural beauty of Nantucket made this session truly special.
Carolyn and Clark’s Nantucket engagement session wasn’t just a series of photographs; it was a celebration of love, history, and the promise of a beautiful future. Here’s to Carolyn and Clark!!
