When someone who works in the wedding industry contacts me about taking their engagement photos, I get a healthy mix of excitement (“Yay they love my work and they see A LOT of work!”) and sheer terror (“OMG, what if I fall short of their expectations and they hate me forever?!”). However, when Nicole – lead planner and owner of N. Malone Events – contacted me about taking her Seaport Boston engagement photos, I was absolutely thrilled!!
Nicole and I are cut from the same cloth. Aside from being obsessed with love and weddings, we’re both COMPLETELY IN LOVE with Ireland. She and Dan are even planning an Ireland wedding, which, of course, was Matt’s and my plan for OUR wedding before the Covid-19 Pandemic happened. When we met in Seaport Boston for their engagement photos, it didn’t get past me that both Nicole and Dan wore Claddagh rings. See? I’ve got Spidey-senses for anything relating to Ireland.
Dan works in Boston Harbor and it is a sentimental place for them as a couple. For this reason, we chose to take their engagement photos in Boston’s Seaport so that the iconic Harbor could be the backdrop of their engagement photos.
The weather Thanksgiving weekend was absolutely perfect for an engagement photo session in Boston’s Seaport. The sun was out with a fall crispness in the air. Naturally, because of the unseasonably warm weather, and because Snowport was going on, tons of people flocked to Seaport. But, thankfully, we were able to find a few quiet nooks near Boston Harbor to start their session.
And what’s an engagement session without a little Prosecco? I don’t think there’s a wedding vendor alive who doesn’t enjoy a good champagne bottle spray photo so, naturally, we indulged ourselves. Complete with an adorable custom-made Etsy engagement sticker, Nicole and Dan celebrated their engagement by popping, spraying, and then drinking some bubbly.
Words truly don’t do my excitement for Nicole and Dan justice. I can’t wait to hear how planning their Ireland wedding goes and I especially can’t wait to (hopefully) join them in Ireland to photograph their wedding! A gal can dream, right? 🙂
