When Jean planned his surprise Boston proposal to Tatiana, he wanted it to be thoughtful, personal, and incredibly meaningful. He chose Larz Anderson Park in Brookline, MA, just outside of Boston, not only because it was a place Tatiana loved, but also because they visited it a lot in the early days of their relationship. Jean knew it would be the perfect spot for this unforgettable moment!
Jean’s plan was simple but deeply personal: he wrote a story for Tatiana, one that capturied the essence of their relationship and the moments they had shared together. I arrived at the park early, as I always do, to scope things out and to make sure no one was in our chosen spot. Luckily, no one lingered there for too long. I watched and waited, hiding in plain sight.
Once they arrived at the park, Jean led Tatiana to the spot (aptly named the Temple of Love). He had her sit down and read the story he wrote. As Tatiana reached the final words, Jean pulled out the ring, dropped to one knee, and asked her to marry him. The moment was pure magic! Tatiana was so surprised (even though she had a feeling that something was up) and, of course, said yes! Her joy was so contagious I could feel it from where I stood, on the other side of the water.
Tatiana looked gorgeous in a cute ombre yellow, green, and teal dress, paired with chic tan sandals. Her smile radiated happiness as she embraced the new chapter ahead with Jean (pun very much intended). The engagement ring, from Melanie Casey, was a stunning choice – picked out with the help of Tatiana’s best friend, making it all the more meaningful and beautiful.
After the proposal, we took a few post-proposal engagement photos around the park to capture their excitement and the genuine love between them. Their playful energy and love for each other were so evident in every frame.
Capturing Jean and Tatiana’s Boston proposal was such a joy!! There’s something incredibly special about being invited into the very beginning of a wedding story. The way Jean thoughtfully wove their memories into his proposal and how Tatiana lit up with joy reminded me exactly why I love this work. These quiet, intentional moments are where magic and meaning happen.
If you’re dreaming up a Boston proposal (or one anywhere love leads you) and want it captured in a way that reflects your and your partner’s personalities and connection, I’d be so honored to help tell your story with heart, care, integrity, and artistry.
